Brian O’Kennedy is CEO of Clearstream Solutions, a leading independent carbon management and corporate sustainability consultancy which he founded in 2009. Brian has over 20 years’ leadership experience in global supply chain management and procurement, particularly in the areas of IT, Media, Print and Packaging. Brian has served as Chair of the CDP Ireland Network, the global carbon reporting program, and is also a member of Steering Committee of the global Responsible Sourcing standard, Verego SRS. He has a degree in Economics from Trinity College, a Certificate in Sustainable Management from BSI Group and is currently studying the Circular Economy at TU Delft.
Gavin Whitaker is Consulting Director at Clearstream Solutions and has held key senior management roles in Marketing, Sales and Operations over the past 20 years. He has trained as a Carbon Consultant according to the ISO 14064 Standard and has extensive experience in organizational carbon footprinting. Gavin has a BA from UCC in Economics & Sociology, a MA in Marketing from University of Ulster, has studied International Business in Harvard University, CSA ISO 14064-1 Measuring an Organisations Carbon Footprint and CSA ISO 14064 -2 Reducing an Organisations Environmental Impact.
Sustainability Strategy & Reporting Manager
Ché is an bio-medical engineer by training and has worked for global medical device manufacturers as a process improvement engineer. Following a passion for sustainability, she completed an MSc in Sustainable Development at TU Dublin, and now works with organisations on their corporate sustainability strategy & reporting projects. She has previously worked for Sustainable Nation Ireland, Boston Scientific, Fisher and Paykel Healthcare, and FT Technologies UK.
Carbon Program Manager
Gráinne is an Environmental Science graduate with both research and practical experience in organisational carbon footprinting. Following graduation, she was employed in Dublin City University’s Sustainability Office to assist in university management of emissions, waste, water, transport and biodiversity. DCU became the first university globally to submit to CDP’s climate change programme during her time there. She holds 3-002-RA: Verification of Greenhouse Gas Statements (Reasonable Assurance) certification.
Circular Economy & LCA Program Manager
Niall is a Biosystems graduate with a Masters in Sustainable Energy & Green Technologies from UCD. He has both research and practical experience in life-cycle analysis and circular economy principles. His MSc thesis focused on the environmental and economic analysis of a seaweed farm in Ireland through a cradle to gate life cycle assessment using Gabi LCA software. He has also worked with Sway, a company who are looking to develop a competitive food-safe bioplastic.
Dr. Leigh Holloway
Leigh is a product & LCA specialist who has been working the field of eco-design of products and packaging for over 20 years. Leigh has been involved with hundreds of projects with companies ranging from Northern Foods, B&Q, and Diageo to Mars, Next and Pacombi. An expert in life cycle design and carbon foot-printing of products and packaging Leigh assists companies to understand environmental issues in context and to adopt the most appropriate strategy to deal effectively with these. Leigh was a member of the UK Government’s WEEE Advisory Body for the full 3 years of its operation and has also worked as an ‘expert witness’ for various UK Trading Standards Departments advising on Packaging. He has a degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and a PhD in Ecodesign.
Dr. Declan Bogan
Declan is our strategy & innovation specialist. He has worked with over 75+ organisations on innovation, systems and design thinking across product, people, portfolio and business model proposition elements over the last 20 years. He has also mentored and coached many start-ups on their business proposition evolution, all with a sustainability/climate focus. He holds a degree in Analytical Science and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Dublin City University.
